Georgia Mancio - Jazz singerGeorgia Mancio's music is an intriguing reflection of her Anglo-Latino background: predominantly a standards singer she also specialises in South American and European music and is a lyricist. As a child she played classical flute, went on to train as an actor and film-maker before returning to her musical roots (her Italian grandparents were an opera singer and concert pianist respectively) to study jazz and voice. Since turning professional in 2000, Georgia has worked in various musical outfits and last year completed a Jazz Services tour with her band: Gareth Lockrane, John Pearce, Dave Green, Dave Ohm and Anselmo Netto.
A natural instinctive musician with a pure honeyed tone, her deceptively simple delivery is always shot through with sincerity and gravitas. This supremely elegant voice, rich and bittersweet, has impressed peers, press and audiences alike making Georgia Mancio a rising talent on the British and European jazz scenes. Georgia features in 2007 editions of Who's Who in Jazz and Cabaret and Entertainment Divas - Jazz and Cabaret. Festivals Guest spots Radio Reviews "Stylish young Anglo-Italian vocalist" “Supremely elegant and soothing jazz from… Mancio – one of the hottest singers on the circuit.” “Georgia Mancio is... a shining example of what jazz vocalists should strive to try and reach.”
